Preparation for College and Career
Our high school program is a highly collaborative effort between students, faculty, and a dedicated academic advisor. Students begin working with an advisor in 9th grade and chart a personalized plan to prepare for college or a career/trade upon graduation.
Each student's path will be different and will likely include dual enrollment courses through a local college as well as a variety of electives including computer science, economics, political science, business essentials, journalism, and tools for college success.
Students are guided and supported through their journey of creating resumes, shadowing at local businesses or ministries, exploring college options, testing, and deciding where they can best continue their personal growth.
HCA's graduation requirements mirror those necessary to attend the nation's top colleges and universities. Our rigorous education and commitment to producing servant leaders set our graduates on a path to success, enabling them to earn more than double the average college scholarship package, attend their first-choice schools, and succeed in the workplace.
Involvement in national clubs and interscholastic competitions provides opportunities to connect with a broader community of students and learn higher level teamwork, leadership, and organization skills. This is valuable experience whether a student plans to secure a position in the workforce upon graduation or further his/her education.
Community volunteer service opportunities, local and state student leadership programs, our annual senior retreat, mission trips, youth conferences, our signature Senior Mentors initiative, as well as weekly chapel gatherings and small groups are some of the many ways we prepare our students to confidently look forward to discovering how they might positively impact our world. Our high school faculty and staff team is dedicated to nurturing the potential in each individual as they carry out HCA's mission of training minds to lead and hearts to serve.
